How to become A HAM RADIO OPERATOR or UPGRADE YOUR LICENSE

Thank you for your inquiry.  We have three Laurel VEC  teams to serve you in the Greater Triangle area.  All are dedicated to helping you achieve the amateur radio license you desire at no charge for the exam. W4CEC serves the Wake Forest area and conducts amateur radio classes and exams at no charge. For their schedule see W4CEC .

Our exams are held on the first Saturday of every month and the Third Thursday of every month  (excluding holiday weekends). Central Carolina VE Team (CenCar) and Five County VE Team (FCVET)  will be conducting  regular no charge exams in the Southern and Eastern Wake County area. CenCar will be testing at the  American Legion Post 116, 6400 Johnson Pond Road, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 at 10:00 am on the 1st Saturday of each month.  The Five County VE team (FCVET) will be testing at Wendell United Methodist Church,129 N Main Street Wendell, NC 27591 at 2:30 pm on the 1st Saturday of each month. Please read our FCVET Pretest Instructions and feel free to read our FAQ. You will be able to register for the free exams for both teams on this website.
