IT IS HERE

Well for those that watch the rumor page you might know what I am talking about. If you do not then I will tell you.

Ever since I have been a ham I have wanted a repeater. Never could afford one so like everyone else I had a dream. Well this past year that changed to a point. I was able to get my hands on a GE DELTA VHF radio that had formally been used as a repeater and so I jumped at it. Then the race was on. I got the crystals and got it coordinated. I then started looking at controllers and decided on one of those and I was basically on the air. So I now have a repeater. There were a few pit falls along the way but it is up and running. My repeater consist of the following equipment:

GE DELTA VHF RADIO

Frequency is 147.015 with a plus offset

Tone is 110.9

CAT 300DXL Controller with DVR

Astron RS35A power supply

Antenna are 2 Diamond low end up approx 63 feet

You may or may not be able to hit it as it does sit low but if you can hit it here are some codes to play with:

*21 - will give the time

*35 - will allow a key pad test

750 will allow you to use the DVR for an audio test

One last thing for those that like tugging and pulling. The group involved decided that we needed a name for the user group. After much debate and suggestions with rejects a name was settled on. The users will be known to use the TSARS repeater. that stands for (with tongue in cheek):

 Thin Skinned Amateur Radio Society

So please if you can get into it feel free to play and have fun.
